About Robert "Robin" WilsonMy experience as a teacher, small business person, social worker, community development organizer and farmer will help me work with my constituents to solve our common problems.
My teaching certificate is in Biology and Social Studied Education from Glenville State College. I’ve worked with at risk students who were kicked out of the Kanawha County Schools. I was also a social worker for these students helping them with jobs, housing, vocational and college choices. In Spencer, West Virginia I helped start a worker owned business – Spring Creek Natural Foods which provided our area with good jobs and good food for 32 years. I have worked with Energy Efficient West Virginia to help residents save money of the utility bills and to respond to our climate crisis by reducing fossil fuel use. My interest in local development was with the Tri-County Partnership which awarded over $ 250,000 to community groups for mini-grants. The participants built leadership skills while building assets for their neighborhoods. I share our land in a community where each family grows a big vegetable garden and orchard for healthy local food. As a 78 year old senior citizen I appreciate having neighbors who can run around on a roof when need be. Finally, I am a member of West Virginia Can't Wait. |
